Singapore-made productions and the message they convey is fairly interesting. These productions are often made in Mandarin or some other Chinese dialect, accompanied by English subtitles. Apparently these movies are about Singapore and Singapore citizens. That 2 second bit where a random Malay guy with a symbolic headwear is buddies with the Chinese lead character, and for some reason they decide to have a tea break at the stereotypical India prata stall; all the while conversing in Singlish. There you have, the ultimate Singaporean idea.
lol...never seen any of these, i thought we only had Hinglish...never knew Singlish also existed:)!!
ReplyDeletetake care!!
The movies seldom go international...You wouldn't wanna know Singlish Naz..
